Biodata
Ismael Sanz Labrador holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a PhD in Applied Economics from the University Complutense in Madrid. His extraordinary performance in research was recognize through an Extraordinary Thesis Award from the Faculty of Economics and Business Studies.
In addition to being a professor of the Department of Applied Economics in the Rey Juan Carlos University and Director General of Innovation, Scholarships and Aid to Education of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, Mr. Ismael Sanz was Director of the National Institute of Educational Evaluation of the Ministry (2012-2015), Chair of the OECD PISA Strategic Development Group from November 2014 to July 2015 and is a member of the Learning Outcomes Advisory Board of the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) since June 2015 .
His research has been conducted at the University of California Santa Barbara, Australian National University, the Kennedy School of Government of the University of Harvard or the University of Nottingham. He also counts with different publications in the Economic Journal, the Canadian Journal of Economics, the European Journal of Political Economy, the Public Choice or the IZA Journal of Labor Studies, among others.
